At Hushify, your privacy is our top priority. We believe your browser data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, and how it is secured when you use the Hushify Chrome Extension and our website.

2. Data Collection and Usage

Local Data Storage

Hushify operates completely locally on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store any of your browsing history, tabs, or personal data on external servers. All information related to your tab sessions, settings, and whitelist is stored securely on your local machine using chrome.storage.local.

Permissions Explained

To function properly, Hushify requires certain permissions, strictly used for core functionality:

• Tabs & TabGroups: Used entirely locally to read which tabs and groups you have open in order to suspend them, save them as a session, or organize them.
• Storage: Used to save your settings and sessions to your local hard drive.
• Alarms: Used locally to track inactive time limits before a tab is automatically suspended.
• ContextMenus: Used to provide right-click options for managing tabs.
• System Memory: Used locally to calculate and display how much RAM your suspended tabs have saved.

None of this information ever leaves your device.

Licensing and Payments

If you choose to upgrade to Hushify Pro, your payment is processed directly and securely by our Merchant of Record, Lemon Squeezy. We do not handle or store your credit card information. The extension only makes minimal external network requests to the Lemon Squeezy API strictly to validate your license key, and the license state is stored locally.

3. Third-Party Services

We use Lemon Squeezy to process payments and issue license keys. They act as the merchant of record for our Pro tier, meaning your payment and billing information is governed by their Privacy Policy.

4. Children's Privacy

Hushify is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will indicate when changes have been made by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
